# One platform for the professionals a family relies on

Advisors, tax preparers, insurance agents and attorneys work from one record the client owns. Try the staff workspace as a sample advisor. Or open any client case below without signing in.

## One record across firms and generations
Advisors, tax preparers, insurance agents and attorneys share one record the client owns. Investment offices work from it too. It follows the household across firms and generations. A staff workbench holds the specialist tools and communications. It also holds the compliance archive and back office. Referrals become simple handoffs, not new intakes. Each example opens without signing in. To change one, you need a work email. It then opens as your own copy.

## For clients
A portal, an iOS app and a personal Rutledge ID span every firm a client uses. Family linking keeps parents, children and trustees in one picture. Identity is verified with a photo ID, a selfie and a liveness check. No password is needed to sign in. The client decides what each professional may see. That access can be taken back in one action. Linked accounts sit beside the plan, money, taxes and estate views. So do payroll and income data and custodian statements. Payments and e-signature are there too. Rutledge Drive syncs the document vault to the desktop. Files stay private or shared by choice. [See the client side](/clients).

## For the practice
One workbench serves every profession on a shared CRM. Email, calendar, meetings, calls and texts flow into one compliance archive you can search. They come through Microsoft 365, Teams, Zoom, RingCentral and Twilio. Agreements sign through BoldSign or DocuSign. Time, fees, invoicing and Stripe payments are all built in. Posts, newsletters and handwritten cards go out only with approval and consent. So do ads on Google, Meta and LinkedIn. [See the practice side](/practice).

## Wealth and multi-generational planning
Plans are tested across 1,000 simulated market paths. Any path opens month by month. Social Security, survivor and gifting analyses sit beside the plan. So do Roth conversion and required distribution. Multi-generational planning takes one plan across parents, children and trusts. It also flags estate drift for review. Look-through shows what each fund really holds. Rebalancing and trade lists are ready to review before any trade. Read more for [financial advisors](/advisors).

## Tax
Prepare personal, trust, estate, gift, and business tax returns for 2023 through 2026. Covers Forms 1040, 1041, 706, 709, 1065, 1120, and 1120-S. Returns are e-filed with the IRS and all 50 states plus DC. Filing comes with postmarks and acknowledgments. If a required fact is missing, Rutledge flags the exact item. It does not guess. A season queue holds organizers, uploads and 8879 e-signature. IRS authorizations bring in transcripts. [See the tax practice](/tax).

## Life & Annuities
Size capital needs and income floors against the client's own plan. That way protection fits the rest of the household picture. Compare annuity quotes and review carrier illustrations side by side. Track each application from the first form to the issued policy. Keep service requests in the same record. The advisor, the tax preparer and the agent work from the same facts. Those facts are shared with the client's permission. [See Life & Annuities](/life-annuities).

## Commercial Insurance
An adaptive risk interview asks only the questions a business needs. The software reads the files a client sends. It turns them into proposed answers. The agent confirms them. Appetite matching across 22 trade playbooks points each risk to the right markets. Carrier filing and market intelligence show where rates and rules are moving. Renewal boards, certificates and claims diaries keep service on schedule. Agency accounting covers trust money and commissions. It has general ledger export too. [See Commercial Insurance](/commercial-insurance).

## Legal and estate planning
Legal work starts with intake and conflict checks. Ethical walls go up where a matter needs them. Each matter keeps documents, research and work product in one place. Document analysis keeps what a file says apart from what a client claims. Research cites the exact text of the governing law, never a paraphrase. Complete coverage is the standard. Estate planning draws right on the household's financial plan. It also prepares the fiduciary and transfer-tax filings. ## Research managers, set policy and report to the committee
For CIOs, OCIOs and consultants who manage managers for endowments, foundations, pensions and family offices. Set the investment policy. Give each asset class a target and a band. Size the manager lineup. See through funds to what they hold. Check each manager's style, risk and drift. Keep the fund ledger, with capital calls and distributions for private funds. Prepare rebalancing and trade lists to review. Report attribution and decisions to the investment committee. [See the tools for investment offices](/investment-offices).

## Every capability on one record
One client record powers your CRM, planning, investments and tax returns. It also powers insurance, legal work, billing and the compliance archive.

## AI, integration and trust
AI drafts work and reads files, but never acts without your approval. Each change shows who made it and which facts it used. Items that AI reads from a file are confirmed one at a time. Client data goes only to AI that never stores it or trains on it. Firms and AI assistants connect through secure, audited software connections. Storage is encrypted and uploads are scanned. Single sign-on needs no password. Read [Security & Control](/trust), [how AI is used](/ai) and the [developer guides](/developers).

## See the specialist work for yourself
The showcase opens the specialist tools on a fictional business owner. Calculate a return, test a plan and size protection. Review a commercial risk and read the exact text of a law. Then write a brief for the next professional. Change the facts and run the work again to see what moves. [Try the platform](/try) or [talk with us](/contact) about your practice. Firms that link their own software start with the [developer guides](/developers). Questions about cost belong on [pricing](/pricing).

## One case. Four professional perspectives.

Alex runs a home-building business and wants to see the next chapter. This fictional example starts with a tax return. It then gives each specialist a clear next job. Explore each experience with the same case. You decide which facts and assumptions belong in the work.

- **Tax · Establish the starting point.** Project this year's federal and state taxes under today's rules. Compare tax costs across all 50 states. [Explore Tax](/showcase?experience=Tax).
- **Wealth · Test the next decision.** Carry reviewed tax facts into the plan and run 200 simulated paths. Compare the base plan with a case where business income stops earlier. Step through a path month by month. Look at its decisions when you ask. [Explore Wealth](/showcase?experience=Wealth).
- **Insurance · Examine protection and business risk.** Size life-insurance capital needs and essential income against the saved plan. For commercial underwriting, try the electrical-contractor example. Reuse its confirmed answers. [Explore protection and income](/showcase?experience=LifeAndAnnuities) or [commercial underwriting](/showcase?experience=CommercialInsurance).
- **Legal · Frame the assignment.** Find the exact text of a rule that applies and list the open questions. Then prepare a focused business-review brief. [Explore Legal](/showcase?experience=Legal).

### See the work the software prepares

[![Actual handoff workspace showing a business and document review for Alex Example. The recommended package groups client, context, completed work and open questions, followed by a recipient preview marked private draft, not sent.](/images/product/fictional-brief.png)](/images/product/fictional-brief.png)

**Actual software, fictional information.** The return is this year's return for a single filer with $100,000 of business income. The income is from a home built under a two-year contract. The brief asks a legal professional for a business and document review. The work should end in a reviewed issue list and the documents needed to proceed. The brief also notes open questions about the governing jurisdiction and deadline. Open the image to see the full-size capture. These are examples of prep work. They are not filed returns, carrier submissions or an accepted engagement.

### A useful brief starts the next conversation

Pick the receiving specialty and the work you want done. Review the sections we suggest and the gaps that matter. Then save a private brief that tracks its sources. Choosing a recipient and getting the client's approval to share are separate steps. So are the recipient's acceptance and delivery. All sit in the authorized collaboration workflow. Saving a showcase brief does not do those steps. It gives no one access to the case.
